Meet David

David Egan is a leader and an eager advocate who promotes the causes of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

He worked for 25 years in competitive employment positions as a clerk with Booz Allen Hamilton and then with CBRE. His latest job for 5 years was with Source America as a Community Relations Coordinator.  After two years of Covid and Long Covid, David lost his job and is now volunteering, advocating, and supporting the causes of individuals with disabilities.

He is the first person with Down Syndrome (DS) to serve as a Joseph P Kennedy Jr. Public Policy fellow on Capitol Hill. A Special Olympics athlete and International Global Messenger, he has traveled extensively and spoke to diverse audiences.

He currently serves on the DSANV Board of Directors, the CEO Commission for Disability Employment, and Melwood.

Meet Caleb

Caleb Prewitt is a Jacksonville local and record-breaking athlete whose joy is as impressive as his achievements. Known for his signature finish-line dances and high-fives, he has completed more than 119 races—including 44 triathlons, multiple half-marathons, and Spartan Races.

Diagnosed with Down syndrome at birth, Caleb has never let expectations define him. With the support of his parents, he has trained, competed, and proven time after time that he is capable of extraordinary things. At 16, he became the youngest person with an intellectual impairment to complete a half-marathon, earning recognition in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Beyond athletics, Caleb is a beloved presence in the Jacksonville community—fondly called “Mr. Mayor” at his school—and a role model to thousands. His upbeat spirit, strong work ethic, and “No Limits” mindset inspire families across the country.

Whether he’s running, baking cookies for a local coffee shop, or encouraging others online, Caleb brings joy everywhere he goes. His story continues to show what’s possible when determination meets unwavering support.
