Tiasia O'Brien, Founder of co:census -powered by Seam Social Labs, shares a personal story about her experience with contextual insights that led to her team’s mantra: data by the people, for the people. In her talk, she explains how qualitative data serves as a tool for empowering the voices of the unheard by accessing deep insights and how this can be powerful for businesses as they explore more inclusive & ethical data.
Our goal: to share 3 key principles aimed at democratizing data, building more inclusive data systems, and structuring data in a more community-driven and collaborative fashion.
After the 10 minute talk on this minute, the key speaker, Tiasia O'Brien, will showcase examples of where these principles have been used. The talk will close with a Q&A with the audience to understand their goals with regards to open data and how open data can be used to gather and analyze qualitative and contextual insights for communities.
