Dancing in the Dark. Eyes-closed movement experience
Overview
Through our visual channel, we receive 80–95% of information from the outside world. When we close our eyes, a powerful stream of distracting images switches off. Other streams then become clearer and more noticeable, while the rest of our senses awaken and sharpen. Subtleties and nuances that previously slipped by come to the foreground. Our perception of space, others, and ourselves changes in surprising ways. Dancing with closed eyes helps us feel freedom from over-control and the need to be flawless. After all, no one is watching you :)
Structure:
* Verbal introduction to the space and to each other;
* Sensory warm-up – we’ll be closing and reopening our eyes, experimenting with how different textures and shapes feel to the touch;
* A ritual transition from open eyes to closed;
* Playlist and free movement without instructions – only music and your own “trip” with it, to dance out what has accumulated inside, free from external observers and self-censorship.
We’ll start with a gentle introduction and sensory warm-up, exploring textures and the shift from open to closed eyes. Then the playlist will guide you into your own free movement — every sigh, sway, or spin is already a dance. There are no right or wrong steps, only the chance to release what’s inside and experience the pure joy of moving unseen.
The room will remain lit throughout. You are welcome to sit by the wall and take breaks anytime. This is your self-exploration – an invitation to discover what you can “see” in yourself and others when not looking with your eyes. Everyone chooses their own level of intensity and possible interaction.
