Dances for Universal Peace

Unity Spiritual Center Denver is proud to present: Dances of Universal Peace with leader Sára Rain.

Dances of Universal Peace are a form of circle dances designed to bring the experience of prayer from many world traditions into the body, voice, heart and spirit. These dances draw on many spiritual traditions and blend chant, live music and movement into a living experience of unity and peace. Dances of Universal Peace are done in circles, which facilitates a communal experience of balance and mutual respect among participants.

The Dances originated in the late 1960’s through the vision of Murshid Samuel Lewis, a Sufi master. The Dances have since been carried around the world, infused with intentions of peace and harmony.

Prayers from many world traditions will be taught by leader, Sára Rain, who offers pronunciations, translations, melodies and attunements (suggestions for understanding and connecting) to the phrases.

Doors open at 6:30 for light snacks (optional), viewing the art exhibit, browsing the bookstore, jewelry sales. Dance begins at 7:00 and ends at 8:30.

Childcare available for a small fee (please indicate at ticket checkout).

About Sára Rain

Sára Rain is a mentor for the Dances of Universal Peace, an Interfaith Minister, founder and president of Sirat-i Inayat Sufi Path.

She has been bringing joyful prayer practice with music and movement to communities along the Front Range and around the world since the early 90's.
