Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is included in the price of the ticket?
Standard tickets include entrance to the event and unlimited beer and wine. The event is a fundraiser for the East Falls Development Corporation, a non-profit entity dedicated to community-based economic development for the benefit of East Falls.
2) Is food included with the price of the ticket?
No. However, there will be food trucks on-site with food and treats available for purchase.
3) What type of music will be playing?
The Sofa Kings! They’re a high-energy ten-piece band. They play a wide range of dance-inspiring tunes. Check out their song list here.
4) Do I need to bring cash?
Cash is recommended for tipping bartenders, buying munchies at the food trucks, or purchasing specialty items from the EFDC tent (details to come).
5) What should I wear?
Whatever makes you want to dance! The dance is a semi-formal event with a casual flare (hey, there are food trucks, after all!), so there is always a range in attire. We say hey, seize the opportunity to get gussied up!
6) Will there be places to sit?
It's a dance, so most people spend the night dancing! There will be some open seating, however, availability it is not guaranteed. You may reserve a place to sit by purchasing a Reserved Table in advance of the event, in addition to your ticket. RESERVED TABLES ARE SOLD OUT.
7) Will there be bathrooms?
Yes, there will be porta-potties on both ends of the bridge.
8) Is there a VIP section?
There is no VIP section. However, you may purchase a Reserved Table in advance of the event, in addition to your ticket. RESERVED TABLES ARE SOLD OUT.
9) How do the Reserved Tables work?
RESERVED TABLES ARE SOLD OUT. A Reserved Table does NOT include tickets — you must purchase a ticket to enter the event. You can add on a Reserved Table for $125 (there are a limited number available; you must purchase in advance of the event). Each Reserved Table includes seating for 10, so if you gather a group of 10 people who want to share a table, only one person needs to purchase the table. If you purchase a table, you will be shown to your table the night of the event. Reserved tables will also be designated with signs.
10) If I purchased a ticket but can’t attend the event, can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds.
11) Is there parking available?
We highly encourage attendees to use public transportation, taxi, Uber, or Lyft. For parking information, please reference the Transportation/Parking section above.
12) Where is the event entrance?
The primary event entrance is at 4300 Kelly Drive. The Falls Bridge will be closed to traffic; please plan accordingly. The EFDC is allocating the majority of our staffing resources to the primary entrance at 4300 Kelly Drive (East Falls side). For people who live on the MLK side of the bridge and would like to walk to the event, there will be a single registration representative available to check you in on that end as a courtesy.
13) What if there is bad weather?
The Dance on the Falls Bridge may be pushed to the rain date (September 24, 2016) if any of the following weather conditions exist: tornado warning, tornado watch, thunderstorm, other extreme weather conditions, or heavy rain. If such weather conditions occur on both the original date (September 17, 2016) and the rain date (September 24, 2016), the event will be canceled and guests will be eligible for a 25% refund of the purchase price. Refunds will be issued through Eventbrite.
