So… what is D-Crit?
The MA Design Research, Writing & Criticism (D-Crit) program at the School of Visual Arts is a one-of-a-kind graduate degree exploring the contexts and consequences of design.
Offered in both full- and part-time formats, D-Crit blends research, writing, and critical analysis to prepare students for careers in design journalism, curating, cultural programming, and strategy.
Join Program Chair Molly Heintz and Director of Programming Eric Schwartau for an inside look at the program, including a spotlight on a recent alum.
All attendees receive an $80 application fee waiver when applying by January 15, 2026, plus priority scholarship consideration.
