Event description

Description

In honor of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Girl Scouts of the USA and Palo Alto Networks® invite you to a panel discussion on preparing the next-generation of cybersecurity talent; the importance of encouraging and inspiring young women to pursue a career in the dynamic field of cybersecurity; and our partnership to create the first-ever national cybersecurity badges.

According to a study by (ISC)², Global Information Security Workforce Study: Women in Cybersecurity, women remain vastly underrepresented in the cybersecurity industry, holding just 11 percent of jobs globally. The Girl Scouts of the USA and Palo Alto Networks cybersecurity badge initiative aims to eliminate gender barriers, while helping to ensure that even girls as young as five years old have a foundation primed for future life and career success.

Prior to the panel, local Girl Scouts will participate in an interactive activity focused on teaching cybersecurity and online safety skills.
