Event Details

Every business is the keeper of massive amounts of customer data and financial information, but small to mid-sized businesses are the most common targets of data breaches. Join speakers Kathy Winger of The Law Offices of Kathy Delaney Winger and Cristie Street, co-founder of Nextrio, for an interactive and informative coffee talk on Thursday, September 21st from 8:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Kathy and Cristie will discuss current cases, laws and legal issues related to cybersecurity and what they mean to you and your business, such as malware infections, regulatory violations and overall data security. They will explain how business technology needs have changed as cybersecurity exposure and vulnerabilities have reached an all-time high, and will navigate the risks, realities and costs related to a breach, including operational consequences and recovery options.

Their objective is to ensure that, as business owners and business professionals, you are not only aware of your potential for exposure but also have specific, actionable information to help address the risks that you face.

Kathy is a business, real estate, banking and data security attorney who represents companies, banks, credit unions and individuals in commercial and corporate transactions. After serving as a partner at a Tucson law firm for several years, Kathy opened her own practice where she continues to represent businesses, banks, credit unions, companies and individuals. Kathy frequently gives presentations addressing cybersecurity issues for businesses and has spoken about the topic to CFO’s, financial executives, lawyers, insurance brokers, business owners and technology professionals. She recently spoke at the Enfuse International Cybersecurity Conference in Las Vegas, NV and at the InterFace cybersecurity conference in Phoenix, AZ. She has written articles on cybersecurity, which have been published in Bloomberg BNA’s Broker Dealer Compliance Report and Bloomberg BNA’s Data Security and Privacy Report. She has also been interviewed for articles that have been published in Inside Tucson Business and the Arizona Daily Star and has discussed cybersecurity on KQTH radio and with Bill Buckmaster on his KVOI radio show.

Cristie co-founded Nextrio fifteen years ago, and is the managing partner of this Tucson-based IT consulting firm that has been recognized by Inc. 5000 as one of the fastest growing businesses in the US, and recently was one of two Arizona-based companies to rank in the top 500 of IT service providers worldwide. Cristie was named “Business Leader of the Year” in 2012 by the Tucson Metro Chamber of Commerce and was recognized with the “Sonoran Spirit Award” at the Governor’s 2014 State of the State Address. This year she was selected “Woman of the Year” by Greater Tucson Leadership for her community involvement, particularly in the non-profit sector. She leads a dedicated team of 40 IT professionals as they help small and medium-sized organizations improve their technology and accelerate productivity.
