"Bridging the Gap"

Between Technical Teams, Intelligence Analyst Teams, and Decision Makers

To keep pace with the security environment, organizations must use intelligence to build effective teams and develop holistic cyber security solutions.

Today, significant gaps exist among an organization’s cyber technology experts, intel analyst teams, and executive decision makers - all of whom are responsible for cyber risk assessments, network defenses, intelligence gathering operations, counterintelligence, preventing breaches and responding to a cyber-attack.

Communicating the full scope of how cyber threats actually impact an organization before, during, and after an attack is a vital skill that remains challenging even among the most tech-savvy and cyber-aware organizations.

This one-day event offers a unique opportunity to gain a high-level understanding of exactly how to “Bridge the Gap” among these stakeholders by learning from practitioners who have expertise in these roles, as well as the responsibility to ensure their organization's mission success.

Why attend: Participants will learn why it is vitally important to bridge this gap in their organization and how it should be a key part of doing business on a consistent basis.

Subject matter experts will present a critical overview of the foundations of cyber intelligence, and why it is necessary that cyber intelligence be integrated into every organization’s comprehensive “Strategic Cyber Security Program”.

Overview: This Symposium will begin with an overview of cyber intelligence definitions, key concepts, stakeholder responsibilities, organizational best practices and high-profile case studies.  Attendees will then participate in an experiential learning component, during which they will analyze and respond to a tailored “Cyber Crisis” incorporating the key concepts and lessons learned.   At the conclusion, participants will have a fundamental understanding of how to incorporate cyber intelligence into the larger issues of strategic planning and operations, and how best to convey relevant information to decision makers.

Who Should Attend? This event caters to all cyber security professionals; technical experts, analytic teams, and decision-makers, from IT professionals, all-source analysts, to C-suite executives.  All participants completing this full-day symposium will receive a Certificate of Completion endorsed by George Mason University Volgenau School of Engineering, Cyber Intelligent Partners and Water Dragons Consulting.

Continuing Value: In addition to providing valuable education on a key cyber issue, this symposium also provides a snapshot of the kinds of training and education workshops that can be offered in the future.  These  courses can be tailored in greater depth or breadth to help individual enterprises improve their analysis, communication, and decision processes, thus ensuring that the right information gets to the right people at the right time.

Being Cyber Intelligent means not only understanding who attacked you and how – but also why you were attacked and what the impact is to your business or mission.
