Event description
Make artistic photographic prints using sunlight!

About this event

Make prints and notecards to take home using the sunlight! CYANOTYPE is a magical and simple photographic technique that uses sunlight to develop silhouettes of plants and other objects onto paper. The result is beautiful, graphic, blue and white prints. Supplies are included, but feel free to bring objects or pressed plants to use in your compositions. Fun for all ages!

$3/individual, $6/family of 2-4 people. We are committed to making our workshops available to all. If assistance is needed to attend, please reach out to marla@makeitspringfield.org.

*In order to provide this experience for as many people as possible, we ask that you register for one workshop only per person/family.

*Tickets are non-refundable after July 27 for the July 31 workshop and after August 3 for the August 7 workshop. If you decide you can't attend after purchasing a ticket, please email makeitspringfield@gmail.com so we can open up the spot to others on the waiting list.

This workshop is supported in part by a grant from the Springfield Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

About the instructor: Madge Evers lives in Western Massachusetts where her art often begins in the garden. She began making mushroom spore print art in 2015 which led to her explorations with the magical cyanotype process. Her work has been shown throughout the Northeast, including at the D’Amour Museum of Fine Art in Springfield. In June of 2020, Madge began to work full-time as an artist after teaching for 25 years in Rhode Island and Massachusetts public schools and she now conducts cyanotype workshops for people of all ages.
