We Belong: A Cyanotype Printing on Textiles Workshop
Join SUAY and photographer Adriana Martinez for an immersive weekend workshop exploring creative storytelling through the art of cyanotype printing. This is more than a class; it is a space to make the human stories of migration tangible and personal, standing together against narratives of exclusion.
What to Expect:
This hands-on workshop invites you to transform discarded garments into personal statements. Guided by artist Adriana Martinez, you will learn the process of cyanotype printing, a historic photographic technique that uses sunlight to create striking Prussian blue images.
- Hands-On Creativity: Dive into the cyanotype process from start to finish. No prior experience is necessary—just a desire to create.
- All Materials Included: Your registration includes all necessary materials, refreshments, one garment and one patch to print on.
- Personalize Your Print: We encourage you to bring your own photographs or meaningful objects to incorporate into your design for a deeply personalized piece.
Create Impact with Your Art:
Proceeds from this workshop will support the Immigrant Worker Relief Fund at the Garment Worker Center. Your participation is an act of solidarity, providing essential advocacy and assistance for garment workers in our community.
This is your opportunity to learn a new skill, connect with community, and support LA garment workers. Together, we will affirm: we belong.
