Join us for the 50th Anniversary Screening of the indie cult comedy classic Cute Kitten Video (Please Watch), now back by (un)popular demand! Oh, and yes, we're celebrating the 50th Anniversary about 37 years early.

Cute Kitten Video (Please Watch) was filmed in Charlottesville Virginia in 2011 and released in 2012. The movie was made on a $0 budget. It is a zany, off-the-wall comedy packed full of jokes. In the years since its release, during which time it has been available to watch only on DVD, the movie has gained a small cult following.

Here's a synopsis someone wrote about the movie in a Charlottesville newspaper after its 2012 release: "Cute Kitten Video (Please Watch) is an unorthodox comedy movie with a jokes-first ethos. Set at Zoinksville High School, the film features a bully, a new kid, a love interest, a school dance, and a time machine. The unforgiving use of tropes serves as a scaffolding for one-liners, wonky puns, meta-jokes, and situational comedy."

Josh Luckenbach and Keaton Monger (the co-writers / co-directors), along with much of the original cast and crew, will be in attendance for this anniversary screening—the first public screening in over a decade. A short Q&A with the directors will follow.

Luckenbach and Monger were both regulars in the Charlottesville and UVA comedy scenes, and they frequently performed sketch and stand-up comedy around town. The film features many local actors and comedians.
