Curtain’s Up: Broadway History for Teachers
This FREE, five-week seminar is designed for drama teachers, English teachers who teach plays, theater coaches, and music directors working in high schools and junior high schools worldwide. Each week, we’ll explore a different era of Broadway history through lively lectures, abundant video clips, and guided discussion. Participants will also have the chance to give short presentations if they wish.
Schedule (all sessions Sundays, 2–3 pm ET, November 2025):
- November 2: 1940s and 1950s
- November 9: 1960s and 1970s
- November 16: 1980s and 1990s
- November 23: 21st Century
- November 30: Bonus Class: Sondheim
Expect about 30–45 minutes of homework each week (readings and videos) to enrich our in-class conversations. Teachers who attend all five sessions will receive a certificate of completion.
Cost: FREE for educators. (Non-teachers may audit the class for $18. Broadway Maven Members who alrady pay $18 a month may audit the class for no charge.)
