About this event

Curtain Call Monthly Open Mic, Presented by Capital Cabaret

Our monthly cabaret open mic is a great way for singers to put themselves in front of a supportive crowd to gain confidence and learn technique by watching other singers.

Our open mics are hosted by seasoned performers and established accompanists in the Capital Region. Singers should prepare up to two songs with music charts or sheet music in the correct key. We are unable to connect media players for our open mic. Our accompanists do have iPads so you are welcome to bring digital sheet music that you can send them.

Don't want to sing? No problem! Come support our singers and have a nice meal atParlour Victoria while you listen to all the amazing talent!

Open Mic manners
It's pretty simple, really. Just follow these guidelines and you'll be golden!

  • Keep patter/introductions succinct.
  • Socialize and converse between – not during – performances.
  • Have sheet music in the correct key in hand before you are called up to sing. We cannot connect phones or digital music players. You must have sheet music or a pdf of sheet music for the accompanist.
  • Keep instructions to the accompanist brief.
  • Please be kind and stay to listen to your fellow singers

Cost

There is no cost to the singers - Zip. Zilch. Zero. So why not come on down and show us what you've got?

Our accompanists are paid by the generous donations that we receive! You can make a tax-deductible donation to Capital Cabaret to help us continue our amazing mission of creating these safe and fun spaces for emerging artists!
