About this event

Health • Personal health

Communication with each other is one of—if not the—foundations of connection and long-term relationships. Yet being transparent and honest with the people we care about isn’t always easy.

In this two-hour workshop, we’ll turn inward to discover what it means to communicate as our most authentic selves. Guided by a trauma-informed lens, you’ll explore terms and prompts that help you uncover your needs and challenges while creating a structure that supports clearer, more intentional conversations.

This space is for queer individuals who want to shift how they show up and strengthen the relationships that matter most.

Agenda:

  • Welcome & Grounding – Set the tone and create a supportive, trauma-informed space.
  • Why Communication is Hard – Explore the barriers that make honest conversations challenging.
  • Active Communication & Listening – Learn tools to listen with presence and clarity.
  • The Role of Curiosity in Communication – Practice curiosity as the foundation for deeper, more authentic conversations.
  • Advocating for Yourself with Care & Clarity – Discover how to voice your needs while honoring boundaries.
  • Navigating Tension & Repair – Build skills for approaching conflict with compassion and rebuilding connection.
  • Closing & Integration – Reflect on key takeaways and how to bring them into daily life.
