Internationally known sculptor, author, and hiking enthusiast Bridgette Mongeon shares powerful stories and lessons from her seven-year journey to create her magnum opus, “Move One Place On”—the interactive Alice in Wonderland tea-party sculpture at Evelyn’s Park in Bellaire, Texas. And what began as a personal path to healing became a citywide movement: the Houston Women’s Hiking group, now more than 18,000 members strong. Learn how nature, community, and creative persistence sustained her through the most tumultuous seasons of her career and life.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Bridgette Mongeon is a Houston-based master sculptor, writer, and educator who bridges classical bronze work with cutting-edge 3D technologies. She is the author of 3D Technology in Fine Art and Craft and frequently speaks on creativity, STEAM, and the expanding role of digital tools in fine art. Her new memoir, One Foot in Front of the Other: Art, Hiking, and Healing, shares stories and inspirational lessons of healing and self-discovery. Aligned with her mission to spark curiosity and literacy, her new book, Alice and the Hidden 150, reveals the 150 Easter eggs hidden in her Alice in Wonderland sculpture.
