Join us for an illuminating conversation on the making of 𝗠𝗮𝘃𝗶𝘀 𝗣𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘆: 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀, featuring the exhibition’s organizers, Hallie Ringle, ICA’s Daniel and Brett Sundheim Chief Curator, and Kiki Teshome, Curatorial Assistant at the Studio Museum in Harlem.

Ringle will share insights into the decade-long research and curatorial process that brought this landmark exhibition to life—the first major museum survey dedicated to Jamaican-born artist Mavis Pusey (1928–2019). Showcasing over 60 artworks from her prolific 50-year career, the exhibition highlights Pusey’s distinctive approach to abstraction and her engagement with themes that continue to resonate deeply today.

Teshome will also discuss her work with Pusey’s personal archive—letters, poems, and design materials—that offer a rare glimpse into new dimensions of the artist’s life and practice.
