Get creative and craft a one-of-a-kind themed junk journal in this hands-on workshop! Whether you're new to journaling or a seasoned paper crafter, this class is all about exploring your personal style through curated pages, ephemera, and artistic expression.

Before class, you'll choose from four unique themes to guide your journal's look and feel. Bring your own blank journal or use one provided—either way, you’ll fill it with textures, layers, and meaningful bits and pieces that tell a story.

I’ll walk you through techniques for layering paper, adding dimension, and mixing materials. All supplies and decorative elements (like vintage papers, washi tape, stamps, tags, and more) are provided—you just bring your creativity!

By the end of class, you’ll leave with a beautifully started junk journal that reflects your chosen theme and your unique aesthetic.

What are Junk Journals?

Junk Journals are similar to scrapbooks, but vary in several ways. Junk Journals usually have pockets where you can put items called ephemera. These are tags, booksmarks, tiny journals, writing space, and whatever else you want to put in there.

How else are Junk Journal different from scrap books?

Scrap books are usually "memory books" -where people paste in childhood artwork, programs from concerts, photos, birthday cards you've received, your first hair cut, and many other items from your past. Some people make scrapbooks that detail their pregnancy, wedding or major life event.

Are Junk Journals really "junk"?

Some people choose to fill their junk journal with scrap paper they have laying around. They may use envelopes from junk mail or other random pieces of paper, ribbon, stickers, etc. THIS event will not be a "junky" journal. These are beautiful, curated, themed journals.

What room will the event be held in?

The Octopus room. It is located near the back of the store. Please ask an employee if you need help.
