Cultivating an Individual Donor Base

Building a strong base of individual donors is one of the most sustainable ways to support your creative work, and it starts with knowing how to connect your mission or artistic vision with the people who believe in it. This three-part workshop series is designed for artists, arts leaders, and arts organizations looking to deepen relationships with their communities and cultivate lasting donor support. Each session focuses on a different aspect of the donor engagement process.
**While you are not required to attend all three sessions, please note that session material will build cumulatively throughout the series. Attendance to all three sessions is strongly recommended.
Session 1 - Tuesday, June 3 7PM: Sharing Your Mission
How do you talk about your work in a way that resonates with others? This session will help you craft a compelling narrative about your artistic mission and impact that speaks to current and future supporters.
Session 2 - Tuesday, June 10 7PM: Understanding Your Donors
Effective fundraising starts with knowing who you’re trying to reach.This session will guide you through identifying different types of donors, understand what motivates them to give, and building more insightful, targeted engagement strategies.
Session 3 - Tuesday, June 17 7PM: Engagement in Action
This final session explores practical tools from personalized outreach and events to stewardship methods that keep your supporters connected and engaged over time.
Crystal Pascucci-Clifford is committed to serving nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to sustaining and celebrating the Bay Area’s vibrant musical community. As a conservatory-trained cellist and composer, Crystal has defined a career in arts administration alongside curation, composing, teaching music, performing, and learning. At Oakland School for the Arts, a public 6-12 charter school, she held several roles that included music instructor and management of a $700k fund. She participated in over 50 Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) workshops and was a member of the Equity Task Force. The task force provided recommendations for culturally responsive curriculum content and equitable grading policies. Crystal joined InterMusic SF in August 2022, serves as the Executive Director, and is dedicated to nourishing the Bay Area creative environment.
This workshop will be facilitated by InterMusic SF. Each spring, InterMusic hosts free professional development workshops on a broad range of topics. Workshops are specifically designed for professional musicians + facilitated by Bay Area experts. This May-June, join us for a curated series of workshops that cover public relations in the arts, awareness-based movement for instrumentalists, grant writing skills, and InterMusic’s first ever MULTI-SESSION WORKSHOP: Cultivating an Individual Donor Base.
RSVP to register for this workshop. While you are strongly encouraged to attend all three sessions, you are not required to do so. Only register for the sessions you plan on attending. Participants via Zoom will receive a Zoom link closer to the session dates.
