CSA Certifications Overview (In-person & Online)
Overview
In this meeting, our chapter is proud to overview three of the CSA’s important certifications.
The CCSK and the CCZT are credentials that demonstrate expertise in cybersecurity disciplines. The TAISE credential demonstrates expertise in AI systems.
CCSK: Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge
The CCSK is an entry-level, vendor-neutral certificate developed by the Cloud Security Alliance that validates foundational knowledge of cloud security concepts.
· Focus: Covers fundamental cloud security principles, architecture, governance, risk, compliance, and best practices for securing data and applications in the cloud.
· For whom: Ideal for IT professionals, security analysts, and compliance managers who want to demonstrate their proficiency in securing cloud environments.
· Format: The exam is taken online and is open-book.
CCZT: Certificate of Competence in Zero Trust
The CCZT is an authoritative, vendor-neutral certificate focused on Zero Trust architecture and implementation. The Zero Trust security model operates on the principle of "never trust, always verify," and its concepts are also integrated into the updated CCSK.
· Focus: Covers Zero Trust principles, strategy, governance, and implementation based on guidance from organizations like CISA and NIST.
· For whom: Suitable for a wide range of professionals, including C-suite executives, security engineers, architects, and managers who are leading a Zero Trust initiative.
· Prerequisites: While there are no official prerequisites, a basic understanding of cloud security—such as that gained from the CCSK—is recommended.
· Format: The exam is taken online and is open-book.
TAISE: Trusted AI Safety Expert
This certificate, developed by the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) and Northeastern University, equips professionals to lead the safe, secure, and responsible development and deployment of AI systems.
· Focus: The industry-leading credential covers the full AI lifecycle from generative AI fundamentals and architecture to governance, risk management, privacy, and cloud security. Through a 10-module course and final exam, you'll gain the frameworks, tools, and practices needed to navigate regulatory requirements, protect against emerging threats, and build organizational trust in AI.
· For whom: The TAISE certificate is designed for professionals who carry responsibility for advancing safe, secure, and responsible AI within their organizations.
· Format: The exam is taken online and is open-book.
This session will provide an in-depth overview of these certifications. Attendees will be able to gauge which of these certifications might be important for them and their teams.
