About this event

Join us for our bi-monthly Capital Region CRUX events at The Edge Half Moon!

All experience levels, bodies, and abilities welcome (pro tip: you don’t have to be “strong” to climb)! If it's your first time, don't worry - we'll help you climb your first walls, and there are routes set for all levels.

If you’re new and want us to keep an eye out for you, email Lyndon.Cudlitz@ClimbCRUX.org

Venue: The Edge Halfmoon

Currently, The Edge asks you to book your spot here. You can also save yourself some time by filling out the gym waiver online before arrival.

When you check in at the front desk, let them know if (1) you need rentals, (2) you have never belayed before or (3) you need a belay refresher from their staff.

Come with climbing partners, or let us help you connect with others. If you're having trouble locating us, just ask the desk to point us out!

Accessibility

Belay lesson and climbing on 1st floor, with a short step up to the climbing area mat. Some individuals in the group are adaptive climbers or have experience climbing with people with physical disabilities. However the gym has not yet made significant investments in adaptive equipment, such as a seated climbing rig. If you have questions about what is available and how we can best support your needs, please reach out.

Changing Rooms & Lockers

1st floor gendered, multi-user, wheelchair-accessible restrooms with stalls and semi-open changing areas. Closest known all-gender restroom is 1 mile away at Stewarts.

Cost

$20 day pass. $5 rental package. (10-visit pass for $160).

Ages

15-17yo: The gym allows older teens to be unaccompanined by an adult. Please ensure a gaurdian has signed a gym waiver before or during drop-off. Crux and our volunteers are not responsible for the supervision of minors.

Under 15yo: Adults are welcome to bring kids, and you must be fully resposible for their supervision. The gym sets walls that are "generally for older kids and adults. There are no "Kiddie" specific areas, though we do have equipment to fit them." This gym does not recommend children under 5yo. Please see their FAQs for more info.
