CRR19 Commemorative Marker Presentation & Walking Tour
Overview
Welcome to the CRR19 Commemorative Marker Presentation & Walking Tour! Join us November 8th at the Harold Washington Library Center, Chicago Public Library for a special presentation to uplift and promote three new artistic markers recently installed in the Loop to commemorate lives lost during the Chicago Race Riot of 1919.
Part 1 is a panel discussion with some of the artists who have created our markers. The discussion will take place in the Chicago Authors Room (7th Floor)
Part 2 is a walking tour of our three new markers. The tour will be about 1.25 miles in total and will take approximately an hour.
Both parts 1 and 2 are estimated to last about 1 hour. Guests are invited to join one or both parts.
This project is collaboration between The Chicago Race Riot of 1919 Commemoration Project, Organic Oneness and Firebird Community Arts. Marker installation led by Engage Civil and Trice Construction.
A huge thanks to our partners at Chicago Public Library and the city's Office of Equity and Racial Justice.
