About this event

Music • Jazz

On the evening of October 1st, the Embassy of Croatia in Brussels proudly presents More Love Ensemble with their new program Crossing, an extraordinary musical journey inspired by the treasures of Croatian classical music.

Blending heritage and innovation, the ensemble reimagines works by Luka Sorkočević, Dora Pejačević, Blagoje Bersa, Vatroslav Lisinski, Ivan Zajc, Ivo Tijardović, Jakov Gotovac, and Boris Papandopulo, breathing new life into them through inventive arrangements, improvisation, and a contemporary crossover sound.

The programme

Each piece is more than a performance,it is a story across time:

  • The warmth of a sunlit field (Ray of Sunny Fields)
  • The fleeting grace of a swallow (Swallow)
  • The poetic bloom and wither of a carnation (The Life of a Carnation)
  • The rhythm of the Adriatic coast (Fisherman’s Groove)
  • The timeless call of liberty (Hymn to Freedom)
  • A swan’s elegance from Dubrovnik’s past (Ragusian Swan)
  • A playful buzzing transformed into music (The Fly)
  • The shimmer of the Adriatic sea (Pearl of the Sea)

Together, they form a kaleidoscope of sound that bridges centuries and cultures.

The artists

The quintet unites some of Croatia’s most versatile musicians:

  • Melita Lovričević – vocals, effects
  • Marko First – acoustic & electric violin
  • Luka Žužić – piano
  • Enos Kugler – drums

More Love Ensemble

With a unique voice in the world of crossover music, More Love Ensemble has already captivated audiences with their acclaimed albums More Love to Tchaikovsky and Waking Up. They have performed across Europe, Asia, and Africa, representing Croatia at prestigious cultural festivals and embassies in China, Morocco, and Switzerland.

Now, with Crossing, they invite Brussels to experience a sound that is at once intimate and expansive, traditional yet daring.

This concert is more than a performance: it is an artistic dialogue across eras and borders, a celebration of how music connects us all. Expect an evening of brilliance, emotion, and discovery.
