About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

In this class you will learn cross stitching at an entry level. Cross stitching has a rich history and stands alone as an art or can be used decoratively on clothing. We will review and provide the supplies needed to start your cross stitching journey, beginning with how to thread your needle and anchor your first stitch, and moving our way up to some fun lettering.

All supplies will be provided (scissors, needles, embroidery floss, Aida cloth).

Weds, July 16, 6:30-8:30pm (Doors at 6:15, no admittance after 6:45)

@ The Depot Store: 4695 Telegraph Ave, Oakland, CA

Instructor Jorden Held is an artist living in the Bay Area after receiving her BFA in Textiles from California College of the Arts. She spent several years as a freelance artist before landing as an employee at the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse. While weaving is her primary focus, stitching, quilting, and sewing have become a big part of her practice and a great way to connect with fellow fiber artists around the bay.
