About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

MidCoast Watersheds Council, a local non-profit focused on habitat restoration, invites you to join us for dinner and a short talk about what makes a healthy stream—why messy, complex creeks are often the best for fish and wildlife—and how we’ve worked with landowners to restore sites in the Five Rivers basin and in Crab Creek nearby. After dinner, we’ll take a short walk along Five Rivers, where you’ll see examples of stream sections in various stages of restoration. Please come prepared to walk through sections of mud and uneven ground.

Have a creek, pond, or other habitat on your property? Bring your questions! Whether you're wondering about culverts, erosion, invasive species, or native plantings, staff from MidCoast Watersheds Council will be there to help you explore restoration ideas and opportunities in the Alsea Basin.
