Level: Intermediate ( if you are able to use your overlocker to finish seams, this workshop is your next step).
During the workshop, you will explore how to make the most out of your overlocker.For each technique you will have a demonstration, then you will receive support and guidance as you try out the techniques on your own machine. The skills that will be covered include:
- Mock band hems
- Inserting fishing line into a rolled hem
- Flat lock and ladder stitch, including ribbon detail
- Creative pin tucks
- Overlocking with decorative threads
- other tips and tricks along the way.
At the end of session you will be able to maximise the potential of your overlocker, to create fantastic creative finishes for garments and homeware.
You will need to bring your own overlocker, as this workshop is designed for people who want to improve on their existing overlocking knowledge.
Tea and coffee and lots of sewing chatter will be provided.
