What is an Incantation bowl?

Incantation bowls, also known as magic bowls, are amulets that consist of an incantation or spell written on common domestic earthenware. It was used often in early Jewish or Aramaic communities in Mesopotamia to ward off evil spirits or act as a source of protection.

Will I be able to take my piece home at the end of the workshop?

Not yet! Your payment includes the materials and firing fees. All pieces will be fired and arranged for pickup at a later date.

I'm not really artistic. Can I still do this?

This is a safe place to explore materials and expression. We all bring our stories and experiences to what we make. I have 15+ years teaching art to all ages so I can help you through the process to make you feel successful in whatever you make!

We participate around the New Moon and Full Moon, utilizing rituals to align your creative practices with the natural rhythms of the earth. Amy Mottola, a teaching artist, will invite you to each session to set intentions and reflect on seasonal themes through our featured creative project to expand and deepen your intuition and self-knowledge.
