Creating Your First Crop Plan
Overview
A detailed crop plan can be a way to supercharge yeilds in your garden and make the best use of the seasons and the space between them. In this workshop we will walk through the fundamental concepts of creating a crop plan:
*Understanding the parameters of the season (first and last frost dates)
*understanding succession planting (sowing a crop mulitiple times in a season)
*crop rotation basics
*choosing crops that fit your scale, choosing the best crops for your garden
*understanding strategies of when to plant certain crops
This workshop is intended for growers with basic gardening skills who wish to upgrade their crop planning skills.
Parking: There is limited on street parking. Can park at park'n'ride lot at Hamnett Station.
If traveling by Bus: Garden Dreams is one block from Busway. Hamnet Station. 61A.
Accessibility: Site entrance accessible by sidewalk, then gravel driveway to greenhouse. Greenhouse has limited paved concrete access. While gardens are uneven grass surfaces
