About this event

Family & Education • Education

Neil Stuart has over 30 years experience playing with autistic children and supporting their parents and early years teachers. He is the author of Autism NZ’s Way to Play programme and the Let’s Play parent mediated approach.

Neil is in the UK to talk about why and more importantly how adults can create joyful interactions that promote connection, engagement and learning.

In this talk Neil will identify the barriers to connecting with young autistic children and how to overcome them. He will identify how the switch to a playful approach can lead to gains in many other areas of development. He will demonstrate through practical exercises, story, video examples and research evidence the how of playing joyously.

What others have said about Neil Stuart.

“His character, passion and knowledge about the subject of Play, in particular engaging Autistic children in play, is captivating. I would thoroughly recommend seeing him. Each time I left feeling a renewed energy to pass on the little gems of wisdom we learned to the team back in our setting..” Uk attendee, Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln

His dedication to supporting autistic children and their whanau has been nothing short of inspiring. The compassion, patience and advocacy he shows has truly made a difference in so many lives. His work has helped build understanding and create spaces where children and families felt seen, heard and supported, Ministry of Education, Service Manager, NZ
