Creating the Classroom Culture • Summer 2026
Overview
PLEASE NOTE: you are registering for an online course.
Construct a welcoming & affirming classroom
Learning happens best in classrooms with established routines, consistent rituals, and authentic relationships. Whether you're an early-career teacher navigating your first classroom, or a more experienced teacher pressing restart for a new year, establishing these core pieces of classroom culture and climate will help translate patterns and processes into supports for student exploration and deep learning, creating an environment in which each individual feels acknowledged and appreciated.
Create opportunities for connection
When students struggle, they need teachers who are equipped to create a nurturing environment that removes the barriers to entry for learning. This online course will support K-12 educators in solidifying the building blocks of a classroom community, identifying ways to streamline practices and prioritize authentic, collaborative relationships with — and among — students. As you work to develop a productive and positive classroom culture, you'll explore:
- Rituals that create and sustain community
- Routines that inform students how and when to move, act, and respond in the classroom
- Relationships that allow students to learn from one another
