About The Presentation:
This training aims to go beyond covering the latest acronyms of various gender and sexual orientation identities to include learning about community resources (clinical and social resources) that can assist clinicians in providing holistic care and connecting clients to additional resources outside of therapy.
Mental health professionals can expect to leave this training feeling more confident and competent in serving Transgender and non-binary clients who are questioning their gender identity or sexual orientation and clients who are certain of their identity but don't know where to go next (i.e. connect to health providers for gender confirmation surgeries, hormone replacement therapies, etc).
This training will include an experiential component to increase the clinician's self-awareness related to privileges and oppression related to gender identity as well includes a case study experiential activity to promote deeper learning and application.
About The Presenters:
Kellee Trautmann, MA, LPC, NCC
I have worked in mental health and wellness since 2008 with an emphasis on understanding how cultural identity and our unique backgrounds from race, to age, and socioeconomic background impact us all and make us who we are as individuals; the strengths, struggles, and all! My experience growing up in a multi-racial family as well as studying abroad in Europe in 2007 led me to attain a Master's in Multicultural Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have had the privilege of connecting with adolescents and adults across clinical work in hospitals, residential addiction recovery programs, volunteering at a local GLBT Community Resource Center for those questioning their gender or sexual orientation, as well as summer camps for adolescents including Heritage Camps for adopted children before establishing my private practice Wild Transformations Psychotherapy with locations in Broomfield and Longmont. I offer individual psychotherapy to adults and children ages 12+ as well as facilitate an ongoing Dialectical Behavior Therapy group for adults who want to have more power over their emotions and stress levels to feel more connected to those who matter most!
