Join the Heart Galleries of Texas for their post-permanency best practice training on child-centered adoption strategies. This 1.5-hour training will provide knowledge and skills in best practices for working with children and families in foster care, adoption, and guardianship. This training is open to child welfare professionals working with families in foster care and adoption. This might include professionals working for the Department of Family and Protective Services, Single Source Continuum Contractors, CASA, post permanency agencies, child placing agencies and those providing mental health services. We hope to see you there! 1.5 CEUs will be provided.
Objectives:
- Distinguish between adult centered and child centered practices.
- Increase knowledge and understand purpose of child centered adoption practices.
- Explore specific strategies and tools that promote centering the child’s perspective during the adoption process.
