A training series for local leaders committed to Diversity & Inclusion

About Creating Confluence
Workshops in this series will train leaders in the combined awareness, knowledge, and skills that are crucial for successfully engaging with diverse constituencies.

Topics will include:

  • Facilitating meaningful and inclusive dialogue

  • Incorporating equity at all points of planning and activity

  • Understanding the impact of institutional and individual biases in order to counteract them

  • Local diversity, equity, and inclusion issues

Day One September 30th 9:30am - 5:00pm
Inclusive Leadership + Equity Education led by Inclusant facilitators

*breakfast and lunch will be provided

Day Two October 1st 10:00am- 4:15pm
Facilitation practice, followed by optional Breakout Sessions led by local facilitators with varied expertise.

*lunch and snacks will be provided


$525 If you are an employee of and representing a for-profit company
$425 If you are affilitiated with a nonprofit, community group, or attending as an individual

$75 off for Early Registration

August 7th thru September 1st

Breakout Sessions on Day 2 cost $25 per session.*

There are 4 sessions available, and each attendee can select 2 of these to attend.

Sessions Include:


Movements for Change - Participants will strategize how to engage in movements for racial and economic justice. Facilitators: Etta Cetera and Yvette Shipman

Gender and Sexuality: An examination of diversity within the LBGTQA community - During this breakout session participants will examine their personal understanding of gender and sexuality and begin to asses its impact on their organization, from staffing to programming. Facilitator: Vanessa Davis


Diversity: A story of thorns and roses - This workshop will cover types of diversity, challenges of diversity, and communication and management strategies for diversity. Facilitators: Marian and Akwasi Opoku-Dakwa

Everyone In! - We may want equality in our group decision-making, but it doesn't always happen organically, even with the best of intentions. This session will cover preparation and group facilitation tools that will help create spaces where everyone has an opportunity to share in both power and action. Facilitator: Susan Loucks
