On June 16th 1818, Daniel Nelson mapped out the very first plat lines of Nelsonville creating 57 individual lots. Join us June 16th 2025, on the 207th anniversary of Nelsonville's first city map, as we begin crafting a new city council ward map. In a commitment to transparency and civic engagement, the City of Nelsonville requested that the League of Women Voters of Ohio and the League of Women Voters of Athens County lead a public process to design a ward map based on community input.
