Creating a Customized UA Campus Map for Your Website

This training session will begin with an introduction to Spatial Services at Planning, Design and Construction, a review of existing UA web map applications, and related resources provided by the UA Enterprise GIS (EGIS).

The session will then guide the attendees through creating web maps using ArcGIS Online (AGOL) using services from the UA Enterprise GIS (EGIS), and how to use this cloud service to quickly stand-up a field collection app.

Finally the session will briefly cover creating a custom map application using the ESRI Javascript API.

Who Should Come

Web developers, marketing staff, and anyone interested in working with the UA Campus Map. The workshop will accommodate both novice users and those with programming experience.

For This Workshop

Bring your own laptop.

You will need an ArcGIS Online (AGOL) account in order to participate.

Go to the UA AGOL site: uagis.maps.arcgis.com
Click on "Sign In"
Click on "Using Your University of Arizona Account” and log in with WebAuth

If you wish to do an optional Javascript coding exercise at the end of the session, have a local webserver installed.
