Created for Connection
What if the way forward in marriage wasn’t about learning to argue better—but learning to connect more deeply? EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) trainer Kenny Sanderfer unpacks how this approach builds lasting emotional bonds between spouses and helps couples break through painful patterns of hurt to experience connection.
“Relational wounds are healed in relationships,” Kenny said.
When there’s a loss of secure emotional connection between spouses, and a subsequent pattern of negative interactions, the relationship can become distressed. The way to enhance or save our relationships—with each other and with God—is to be open, attuned, responsive, and to re-establish safe emotional connection. It’s not until people take risks in their marriage and choose to be vulnerable by expressing their feelings to one another that they finally get the bond they’ve been longing for.
“A bond is the end result of couples turning to each other from places of vulnerability and experiencing each other in a new way,” Kenny said.
You can help couples feel encouraged knowing that they can join together and actively shape the love they are looking for—the love that leads them home to a loving God.
Join us for this up-close and personal conversation that will inspire, encourage, and equip you to help couples experience the deep connection marriage was created for.
