About this event

Create Your Own Altered Book!

Workshop led by Carole Morisseau

Thursday, October 30, 2025 5:00 to 6:30 pm

Annex Gallery, 333 Midland, Highland Park

There is no fee for attendance, but registration is required. A donation would be appreciated. This is an all-ages event but children must be supervised by an adult.

Learn how to take an old book and transform into a treasured keepsake! Artist and educator Carole Morisseau will demonstrate how to alter the cover, spine and interior pages to create a book to hold your memories, hopes, art and treasured moments. She will give instructions on how to create pockets, folds and more. You will leave with a creation that you can add to for years to come.

We will have a supply of 8.5” x 11” books but you are welcome to bring your own hardcover book preferably no smaller that 7” X 9”.

Please bring: personal items to put in your book like photographs, postcards, drawings or other mementos and any fun decorative items you wish to include.

It is suggested that you bring the following: glue, scissors, E-xacto knives, construction paper, ribbons, and drawing/coloring material. We will have these materials on hand but you may wish to bring your own.
