About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Make a container with a mixture of spring and fall blooming perennials. Will provide the plants, you bring your container. Some of the plants we will use are pictured above: Amsonia, Goatsbeard, Christmas Fern, Aromaic Aster, and others. Your plants will be tailored to sun or shade.

We'll give you instructions on how to over-winter the container so that you can enjoy it next spring as the plants mature and fill out.

EOTW Horticulturist Kellyn Stefancin will demonstrate planting techniques and talk about plant selection. There will be a quick walk around the nursery to see example containers. Most of this workshop will be standing at a table. Accomodations can be made if needed! Plants will be provided for your choice of sun or shade container.

Bring a planter of your choosing approximately 16"-20" diameter and at least 11" deep. If you need help selecting one, let us know. If your container is deeper than 13" please let us know so we can be prepared because soil will be provided.

There is an option at check-out to pick a shade or a sun container. Make sure to choose which one you want to make!
