Crafting Purpose: A Kwanzaa Celebration with MORE
Overview
Join MORE for a unique celebration of Kwanzaa centered on Ujima and Ujamaa—the principles of collective work, shared responsibility, and cooperative economics. This year’s event invites us to think beyond individual goals and focus on building strong, interdependent communities. Together, we’ll embrace the spirit of the season through engaging, affordable, handmade activities designed for all ages.
Our Kwanzaa Program features crafting sessions where you can create crochet animals, travel pouches, and body scrubs. Your ticket includes a delightful brunch and full participation in the body scrub activity. Other crafting sessions (crochet and travel pouches) are available for an additional fee, allowing you to personalize your experience and choose the activities that interest you most.
Each crafting activity offers more than a creative outlet—it reflects the values of Ujima and Ujamaa. Participants will explore how collective work strengthens families and neighborhoods, and how cooperative economics supports shared prosperity. These hands-on activities provide not just a crafted keepsake, but a deeper understanding of how Kwanzaa’s principles can be lived out in real, practical ways.
