Series Overview

The Academic Job Market series is a 6-part workshop series that will cover the academic job search process, starting with a review of the current academic job market, to crafting essential application documents. The series will then shift to interviewing for academic jobs and academic job negotiations. Attending all 6-parts is highly recommended but not required. This workshop series is led by Dr. Daniel Olson-Bang, founding Director of Professional and Career Development in the Graduate School at Syracuse University.

Part 2: Crafting Effective CVs and Cover Letters

Hiring committees review scores of applicants for a given position, and impactful materials are the difference between moving on and being thrown in the “no” pile. This session will offer tips about what makes great application documents, as well as strategies to move your candidacy to the next stage.
