Craft Lake City Workshop: Fossil Printmaking

Unearth your creativity in this hands-on printmaking class inspired by Walking with Dinosaurs, a 6 part docuseries airing on PBS Utah June 16th.

Led by local printmaker Taelor Worthington of Tae Worth Studio at the PBS Utah News Studio, this beginner-friendly workshop guides participants through the full process of relief printmaking—from carving a design into a soft-cut block to inking and printing on stone-inspired, fine art paper.

Project designs are based on real fossils found in Utah and are thoughtfully adapted by the instructor to be beginner-friendly.

Attendees will leave with:

  1. A beautiful 8”x10" handmade fossil print
  2. A reusable 4”x6" carved stamp
  3. The skills to continue printmaking at home
  4. A deeper appreciation & understanding of Utah’s ancient past

This class is perfect for anyone curious about art, science or both. Space is limited so reserve your spot today!

** All skill levels are welcome and all supplies provided. Ages 16+ recommended.

About The Instructor: Taelor Worthington is a printmaker whose linoleum and wood block carvings are printed by hand out of a tiny backyard print-shop near Salt Lake City. Her illustrative artwork is largely inspired by earthy magic within the natural world, traditional folklore, and botanical symbolism. Tae studied printmaking in college, and has remained passionate for over a decade since, participating in art exhibitions, occasionally teaching workshops, and selling her relief prints in cute little maker markets across Utah.
