Cracking the code to a deeper connection isn’t always easy, but it can be simple. With practice and practical tools for managing disagreements and handling strong emotions, relationships can be healed and couples can be encouraged to trust that God is not going to abandon them.

Alex and Don Flecky teach relationship-strengthening techniques so couples can grow closer through empathy, emotional expression, and effective conflict resolution. Through their ministry, the Fleckys help couples use healthy communication tools to feel more understood, more connected, and continue growing together.

When it comes to making lasting changes in communication or conflict resolution, hearing about it isn’t enough. Couples need to practice these skills to build healthy habits.

“The most important thing for changing habits is practice,” Alex said. “People who grew up in broken or dysfunctional homes don’t always know how to have healthy relationships,” Don added.

In reality, effective conflict resolution doesn’t come naturally for many couples. For spouses to become skillful communicators, they must choose to learn how to speak intentionally, recognize harmful cycles, and do the hard work of facing the things they might rather avoid.
