Countering Foreign Authoritarian Influence in the US

Join us at 9:30 am on December 10th to examine how authoritarian regimes—particularly China, Russia, and Iran—exploit America's openness to undermine our institutions and target dissidents on U.S. soil.

These malevolent actors spread false information, amplify conspiracy theories, and exacerbate divisions in American society. Meanwhile, they conduct increasingly brazen operations to silence their enemies on American soil by surveilling diaspora communities, intimidating exiled activists, and plotting assassinations of American citizens. As just one example, Iranian mullahs hired the Russian mob to kill Masih Alinejad, an American citizen in Brooklyn—the same group implicated in plots against President Trump. These operations exploit regulatory gaps and reflect sophisticated coordination through what these regimes call their "Axis of Resistance."
