This presentation will address the consequences of the governments plan to rapidly expand renewable power particularly from offshore wind. Hydrogen might be the key to provide essential backup power "when the wind doesn't blow and the sun doesn't shine".

But there are other big questions to consider.

Talk to be given by David Yapp a retired engineer who spent 20 years at Marchwood Engineering labs, 10 years at the Edison welding Institute and 10years at the Cranfield, including work on the fusion reactor at Culham.
