Join Corpus Choir and renowned viol consort Fretwork for a special recital of C16th and C17th English Church Music in the Parker Library

On Monday 10 November 2025 at 7.30pm Corpus Chapel Choir will be performing a concert of C16th and C17th church music: motets and verse anthems, accompanied by the acclaimed viol consort Fretwork in the Wilkins Room of the Parker Library. There will be a drinks reception following the recital. The running time for the recital is c.75minsThis very special concert, by kind permission of the Parker Librarian, is in honour of the 450th annivesary of the death of Matthew Parker, which fell earlier in the year (May 17 1575). There will be music by Thomas Tallis (including some of his musical settings of Parker's Psalm translations which were published in the original edition of Parker's Psalter), Orlando Gibbons, Thomas Morley and William Byrd.
