Synopsis:
The Porters of Hellsgate present Shakespeare’s timeless and timely political thriller Coriolanus, directed by L. Stephanie Tait. Set in an alternate Rome reminiscent of the political, technological, and military upheaval of the 1960’s, Coriolanustells the story of the Roman general, Caius Marcius Coriolanus’ bid for consul.Trapped between familial expectations and the glaring light of being an unwitting figurehead, Marcius must come to terms with the sacrifices she’s made for a country that would discard her as quickly as call her hero.
Shakespeare’s daring political thriller will play at the Los Angeles Community of Acting and Entertainment. Preview performances will take place on November 6th and 7th. Opening night will be November 8th. The production will close November 23rd.
Masked audience performances will be held on November 9th, 16th, and 23rd at 2 PM.
