About this event

What is Junk Journaling?

Junk journaling is a creative and artistic practice that involves repurposing discarded materials to create personalized journals. These materials can include scraps of paper, old books, magazine clippings, fabric, postcards, and other ephemera.

The goal is to combine these items in a way that reflects the journaler's personality, thoughts, and experiences. In a junk journal, you can write, draw, or collage, allowing for a freeform exploration of creativity. This practice encourages self-expression and can serve as a therapeutic outlet, helping individuals process their emotions or document their lives. There are no strict rules; each journal can be unique and reflect the creator's style and interests.

With this class you will receive your own junk journal, have access to numerous supplies, receive instruction on making various emphemera with decoration and embellishments. Emphemera are the items stuffed into envelopes within a junk journal. These can include tags, journaling cards, receipts, post cards, and tickets. Cost is $20 per person and spaces are limited. You can sign up for the workshop here, on Facebook, Instagram, or in person at the store.

Have you already attended a Junk Journaling Workshop? Bring along your junk journal for further embellishment and envelope make for a $10 fee.
