There are thousands of children in the Lubbock area receiving services from Texas Department of Family and Social Services (DFPS). Some of these children can remain with family members, but many others are placed in foster homes. The HOME RUN is an event that HONORS these children who have been abused and /or neglected. This event shows these children that there are people who care! The HOME RUN also brings awareness of the need for foster homes in the Lubbock area. There continues to be a critical shortage of foster homes in the Lubbock area. Child Placing Agencies are participating in this event so you can obtain information about how to become a foster parent! Charities that focus on children and are involved with DFPS are also participating so you can learn about other ways you can help these children! In addition, agencies and businesses that care about these children will be there!

The HOME RUN includes a fun run, fun family activities, art and horse rides! The activities are provided by the Child Placing Agencies as well as the businesses and charitable organizations!

Foster*A*Life is sponsoring this year's event for the Lubbock Inter-Agency Adoption Council (LIAC). LIAC is a collaboration of the child placing agencies offering Foster and Adoption services in the Lubbock area. Together they promote awareness of adoption and recruit for much needed foster and adoptive families.

Foster*A*Life provides services and opportunities for children who are involved or have been involved with DFPS in Lubbock County as well as 17 surrounding counties.

Agenda:

• 8:00 a.m. Registration begins
• 9:00-11:00 a.m. Fun Run and activities
• The event ends at 11:00 AM! This is a 4k route if you run the route twice! (This may be changed)!

The cost for the fun run is $10 for all ages until Friday, August 15, 2025 at 7:00 PM. On the day of the event, Saturday, August 16, 2025, the cost is $15 for all ages. THERE IS NO CHARGE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ACTIVITIES!! ANY FOOD VENDORS DETERMINE THEIR OWN PRICING!

The packet will include a T-Shirt for the first 200 participants. (A T-Shirt cannot be guaranteed for registrations after July 30, 2025. T-SHIRTS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED THE DAY OF THE EVENT ONLY. IF YOU ARE NOT AT THE EVENT, YOU WILL NOT GET A T-SHIRT)
