Copy of 8-Hour Concealed Handgun Permit Certification Course

This comprehensive course exceeds the new state training requirements for obtaining a Concealed Handgun Permit. Taught by Verified/Certified Douglas County Instructors. This course is designed for all Colorado Conceal Carry requirements beginning after July 1, 2025.

You will learn:

Knowledge and safe handling of firearms and ammunition;

Safe storage of firearms and child safety;

Safe shooting fundamentals;

Federal and state laws pertaining to the lawful purchase, ownership, transportation, use, and possession of firearms;

State law pertaining to the use of deadly force for self-defense;

Best practices for safely interacting with law enforcement personnel who are responding to an emergency; and

Techniques for avoiding a criminal attack and how to manage a violent confrontation, including conflict resolution and judgmental use of lethal force.

Required Equipment:

• A signed range waiver (link located at top of page)
• Handgun chambered in any caliber
• 2 empty magazines (if using a semiautomatic)
• 100 rounds of ammunition (available for purchase if needed)
• Eye Protection
• Ear Protection
• A sack lunch, snacks and water

Cost: $150.00 per person – Cost includes classroom instruction, range time and certificate of completion.
