About the Coach
Johanie is a dev and copy editor, proofreader and sensitivity reader who has a lifelong passion for storytelling and a burning need to correct any book that uses "less" instead of "fewer." Johanie knows that the best type of editors are those who want the best for their client’s story. As an editor, Johanie believes that her job is to ensure the voices of her clients are maintained throughout their work and not her own.
Johanie has edited for indie authors and publishers alike and has worked with big-name publishers like Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, Macmillan, Sourcebooks and more. She has worked with 16 best-selling authors since 2019.
As an alumnus from Tessera Editorial, Johanie has completed their mentorship program and is a professionally trained editor. She works with most genres but her specialties are romance, fantasy and horror. Johanie holds a BA in English with an emphasis in creative writing from Vanguard University.
Johanie is available for fiction and nonfiction manuscript editing, development editing, copy editing/line editing, sensitivity reads and proof reading. Inquire about your project here.
